Designed for both beginners and experienced players, this engaging class introduces children to the timeless game of chess through expert instruction, interactive lessons, and thoughtful gameplay.
Students will build a strong foundation in opening principles, tactics, endgames, and strategic thinking while developing essential life skills such as patience, focus, problem-solving, and resilience. As they analyze positions, anticipate their opponents' moves, and think several steps ahead, children will strengthen their confidence both on and off the chessboard.
Each class will go from the week of September 14th until the week of December 18th. We offer pickup from PS84 and PS132 everyday at 2:30pm. The classes run from 4-5pm, with pickup at 5pm. We also offer extended days until 6pm at an additional cost.
