Introduce your child to the wonderful world of chess through play, stories, and hands-on discovery! Designed especially for young learners, Becoming a Grand Master uses games, movement, and imaginative activities to teach the fundamentals of chess in a fun, age-appropriate way.
Children will become familiar with each chess piece, learn how they move, and begin developing foundational strategies through engaging lessons and guided play. Along the way, they'll strengthen important early learning skills such as concentration, memory, problem-solving, patience, and taking turns—all while building confidence and having fun.
Each class will go from the week of September 14th until the week of December 18th. We offer pickup from PS84 and PS132 everyday at 2:30pm. The classes run from 4-5pm, with pickup at 5pm. We also offer extended days until 6pm at an additional cost.
